The Core Concept: Tokens

Credits are calculated based on **tokens**. Think of tokens as pieces of words. For English text, 1 token is approximately 4 characters or 0.75 words.

Your total credit usage for any request is determined by two factors: the number of tokens in your **input** (the prompt you send) and the number of tokens in the **output** (the response from the AI).

Total Tokens = Input Tokens + Output Tokens

Model-Specific Costs

  • The generated blog post (output) is **1,500 tokens**.

The total token count is 500 + 1,500 = **2,000 tokens**.

Since ChatGPT-5 costs **5 credits per 1,000 tokens**, the total cost is:

(2,000 Tokens / 1,000) * 5 Credits = 10 Credits
